\\Random\ Little Red (Green) Corvette

Me and my colleague were standing next to the window and looking at policeman, approaching a dark sedan, stopped after loud desperate screams  coming down the street from megaphone, attached to police car.

No running, no shootouts, just plain stop by, and people were turning back to their cubicles. And then I said to my colleague:

"Oh look, what a nice green VW Beetle"
"Its not green, its red"

And that was the one of the very rare examples of my eyes failing to distinguish one of the few colors. I used to pretend I was joking, I could argue and say, that it has some green in it, or etc. But I was too tired of pretending, that I am not color blind, that I simply admitted it. He didn't believed, because I have a driver license (in Lithuania, it is mandatory to be color able to pass a health check), but I said, that I cheated, learning all possible test results by hard. What I actually did, but I think the doctor was helping me, because I failed some tests, and after that he simply asked: what color is this pen? It looked red, and I said green, and he signed the papers.

It was not shocking when I heard it for the first time, and it never came to me, that I am less happy seeing less colors than others, its really not that bad! There are worse cases, of color blindness and mine case seems to be best case scenario.

My father is color blinded to, however he never admitted it, even after I said that I am, but my mother said that he is. It used to be insult to call someone color blinded, I think it has something to do with the fact, that this disability is not obvious, and since it is not abvious as disability to walk or see, it is connected to our psyche in the eyes of observer.
For me, I and III look the same

But don't get me wrong, color blindness is not like being deaf, blind or unable to walk. I didn't knew that I'm color blind until I failed the test while applying for drivers license, and after that, almost six years later, I tend to forget that I am unable to see some shades of colors, until I stumble upon colorful chart or some fancy color in the palette.
