I was eighteen at that time and I was believing that you got to be as manly as you can, what means attending gym twice or trice a week, buying a fast car etc. I see its still around five years later, I still see youngsters getting crazy about with they first cars and they should be, for most of them it's the highest point of life.
Anyway, while applying for driver's license, I had to go and pass psychology test. I went to the right floor, straight to receptionist, which was hiding behind glass wall and through the window she said, I have to wait for a tester here. After few minutes, someone came in, they already checked if I ever visited psychologist or had mental issues, so he came in and asked:
- How do you feel? You want to live?
- I suppose..
And that's it, he signed the papers and gave me approval, straight through that hole in glass wall.
I still ask myself that question from time to time, it became handy.
P.S. My first car was 1991 Audi 80 with under powered 1.6 liter engine, it used to shut down the engine, when you turn wheels to the max (power steering was sucking too much power) and after year and a half I sold it, because on my way home from university a girl smashed in my back, It wasn't serious, but insurance gave me more, than I paid for it and I sold it for scarps to my neighbor, he fixed it with hammer and sold it few months ago, for more than both of us paid for it, his father still brags about it every time we meet.
